Our 2.5 hour sunset trips give you the opportunity to explore the Shell Key Preserve in the evening as the sun goes down. We offer these kayak tours October through March, day trips are available year-round. It is a great time of day to get out and paddle! We will leave a couple of hours before the sun sets and make our way back just as twilight settles in over the preserve.

This tour departs from a public launch site located at 2700 Pinellas Bayway South, Tierra Verde, FL 33715 just North of Fort De Soto State Park. No experience is necessary. We provide instruction and all the gear. We use quality equipment which provides a better overall experience for our guests; sit-inside single and tandem kayaks, fiberglass paddles, PFD’s, and dry bags.

We went out this morning on the 9:30am guided tour and it was truly amazing! Our guide Ross was so much fun and so upbeat, he made sure that we were all having a great time! Our tour with Ross from Coastal Kayak Charters as our guide was nothing less that incredibly satisfying.nFrom the booking process to the end of tour foot wash, everything was expertly done.nRoss explained everything throughout our family tour. The mangroves were amazing, along with sightings of wildlife with interesting information given by Ross.nOsprey, fish. Heron, Bottle-nosed dolphins, and a 4-foot shark were some highlights, along with the ever present comerant birds that followed us in the air, as well as on and, more spectacularly, under the water.nThe three hour tour was a great way to spend with our family doing moderate activity while enjoying all that nature provides us in this section of Florida. What an amazing experience. We took a 9 am tour with 2 adults, 3 teens and a 4 year old and had a fabulous time. A majority of us had never been kayaking before. Our guide, Daniel, was the best. He was a great teacher and had us cruising along in no time. He took time to get to know each of us and made sure we were enjoying our time throughout the tour.
