We are a small owner operated business and we believe in providing our guests with quality equipment and guides with professional experience. We like to treat our tours like we are paddling with new friends and we do our best to make sure everyone feels comfortable along the way. Whether you are new to kayaking or a more experienced paddler our trips are designed for everyone. It would be our pleasure to have you join us.

Our guided kayak tours of the Shell Key Preserve are approximately 3 hours and a great way to explore our coastal environment and spend time on Shell Island. We offer these trips year-round and try to highlight all of the local ecosystems. We will explore mangrove tunnels (Tides Permitting), shallow seagrass meadows, protected bays, and take a break on the island for swimming, shelling, or just relaxing. This beautiful coastal habitat is home to osprey, dolphins, nesting sea turtles, manatees, and a variety of local and migratory shorebirds. It is a great area to see the natural side of Florida. We look forward to having you join us for a kayak tour at one of our favorite local spots to paddle in St Pete.

This tour departs from a public launch site located at 2700 Pinellas Bayway South, Tierra Verde, FL 33715 just North of Fort De Soto State Park. No experience is necessary. We provide instruction and all the gear. We use quality equipment which provides a better overall experience for our guests; sit-inside single and tandem kayaks, fiberglass paddles, PFD’s, and dry bags.

They did an excellent job of explaining plants and animals that we should expect to see on our kayak tour. Our tour with Ross from Coastal Kayak Charters as our guide was nothing less that incredibly satisfying.nFrom the booking process to the end of tour foot wash, everything was expertly done.nRoss explained everything throughout our family tour. The mangroves were amazing, along with sightings of wildlife with interesting information given by Ross.nOsprey, fish. Heron, Bottle-nosed dolphins, and a 4-foot shark were some highlights, along with the ever present comerant birds that followed us in the air, as well as on and, more spectacularly, under the water.nThe three hour tour was a great way to spend with our family doing moderate activity while enjoying all that nature provides us in this section of Florida. A highly recommended MUST DO when visiting the area.

What an amazing experience. We took a 9 am tour with 2 adults, 3 teens and a 4 year old and had a fabulous time. A majority of us had never been kayaking before. Our guide, Daniel, was the best. He was a great teacher and had us cruising along in no time. He took time to get to know each of us and made sure we were enjoying our time throughout the tour. He was very knowledgeable and very interactive. We can't wait for our next tour.
